You may have read in the press or heard on the radio
that there is a major consultation starting on the future
configuration of services at the Princess Royal Hospital
in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
I want you to have your say and I hope you will encourage
everyone to have theirs too. It is vital that services
at the two sites reflect the needs of the whole health
economy.
I have received a personal assurance from the Chief Executive
of the hospital - backed by the Trust Board - that both
hospitals will retain their consultant-led A&E units.
I am pleased that we now have some facts instead
of speculation.
I have already held a number of drop in sessions
for constituents to talk about the hospital issues and I
will be holding more during the full consultation period.
